Massachusetts Tax Holiday, Aug. 13 and 14

A bill has passed the House and Senate that would repeal the state's 6.25 percent sales tax the weekend of Aug. 13-14.

The weekend of Aug 13-14 is officially a holiday weekend for shoppers looking for a deal.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill Monday creating another sales tax holiday in Massachusetts in hopes to boost sales during a slow time of year.

The tax holiday will shelve the 6.25 percent levy on most items selling for less than $2,500.
