Scott Brown Staffer Addresses Dover Republicans

The following was provided by the Dover Republican Town Committee.

35 people from Dover and surrounding towns packed the Dover Library conference room on Wednesday night, April 11 for a meeting of the Dover Republican Town Committee (DRTC).

The evening’s featured speaker was Greg Casey, Scott Brown’s  Deputy Chief of Staff. Greg grew up in Needham and was the head of the Needham RTC. Mr. Casey was a political science major at Roger Williams University and served briefly as an intern for Senator Ted Kennedy. He entertained the group with many stories of the Washington political scene from an insider’s perspective as well as interesting details of Scott Brown’s Senate race in 2010.

Wednesday’s meeting was scheduled to satisfy the Commonwealth’s requirement that town committees  “formally reorganize” following the Massachusetts Presidential primary. In addition to adopting new bylaws officers were elected for two-year terms. Mark Sarro was reelected as Chair, Heather Tourtellote was elected as Vice-chair, Bob Coates as Secretary and Roger Selmi as Treasurer. Several sub-committees were formed and populated as well.

Pat Barrett, the State Committee Woman for the Norfolk Suffolk Senate District, spoke to the group as to what was happening at the Massachusetts State GOP level including the selection process for delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa this summer.
