Boys Win, Girls Fall Against Holliston

The win for the boys' team gets them one game closer to postseason play.

The D-S boys' basketball team got one step closer ot their goal of making the postseason tournament Friday night with a win over Holliston at home.

D-S beat the Panthers 53-36 behind strong efforts from their three captains.

Nate Jenkins led the Raiders with 14 points on the night. Matt Heinlein added 13 points for D-S and Chris Flight chipped in with 12 points.

With the D-S (9-9) needs to win one of their last two games in order to qualify for the playoffs.

The girls' team did not fare as well on the road at Holliston High.

The Lady Raiders lost 51-24 in a blowout Friday night.

D-S only managed 2 points in the first eight minutes of play which allowed the Panthers to build a 19-2 lead in the first quarter.

Senior captain Andrea Marx led D-S with 12 points and sophomore Hannah Crowley pulled down 7 rebounds in the game.

The team was without leading scorer junior Abby Greene, who was nursing a rolled ankle and junior Julia Perlumtter, who also has an injured ankle, who has come off the bench this season to help pick up the D-S defense.

Both the boys' and girls' teams will be back in action on Tuesday against Millis. The boys will be at home at 6:30 p.m. and the girls will be on the road in Millis at 6:30 p.m.
