D-S Boys And Girls Track Falls To Hopkinton

The boys lost, 92-44, and the girls fell,104-31, on Monday.

Dover-Sherborn track fell to Hopkinton on both the boys (44-92) and girls (31-104) side but pulled out some solid performances nonetheless.

On the girls’s side, junior Liz McMillen led the way with a win in the 400m (68.1) and 4x400m with juniors Nicole MacDonald and Nina Copponi and sophomore Brittany Carter.

Sophomore Lee Milne ran to a strong win in the 2 mile (12:04.1) and second place in the mile (5:19.5).

Sophomores Olivia Cannon and Chandler Wood placed second in divisional qualifying times in the 2 mile (12:22.2) and 800m (2:31.3), respectively.

In the field events, junior Leah Byrnes picked up a second in the javelin (81’5”) while junior Lauren Mitchell picked up a third in the discuss (62’10”). Freshman Katrina Brace also picked up a point in the 100m in a time of 13.8.

On the boys’ side, senior Will Bain led the way, playing a part in three first place victories over Hopkinton. Bain won the 100m (11.4) and long jump (18’9.5”) and anchored the 4x100 team – twice- to beat Hopkinton (46.2). The team was comprised on junior Chris Chisholm and Sean Donovan as well as senior Matt Moon.

Chisholm and Donovan also picked up third places in the javelin (136'5") and 100m (12.1), respectively.

Senior Aaron Small won the discus in a divisional qualifying throw of 125’1”.

Senior Mark Moruzzi won the 110h (17.4) and placed second in the 400h (63.1).

Senior Steve O’Connor picked up a second place in the high jump (6’0”) and junior Toby Howe scored a point in the mile with a divisional qualifying time (4:52.8).

Dover-Sherborn will face Bellingham on the road on Thursday, May 5 at 3:30.
