D-S Loses Big to TVL Foe Hopkinton [VIDEO]

Keaton Stoner, Matt Heinlein and Billy Polk all left the game for the Raiders in the first half with injuries and did not return.

The Raiders lost big to TVL Large leader Hopkinton, 28-7, Thursday night.

The first half proved costly for the Raiders as they failed to capitalize on two Hiller turnovers early in the first quarter and lost key players due to injury.

Wide receiver Keaton Stoner, running back Matt Heinlein and wide receiver Billy Polk all left the game for the Raiders in the first half with injuries and did not return.

The Raiders were down 14-0 at the half and could not find a way to stop Hiller quarterback Mike Decina, who had three touchdown passes in the game.

The Raider defense pressured Decina throughout the night but the elusive quarterback evaded tackles and moved around in the pocket to avoid being taken down for most of the game.

Raiders quarterback Will Scatchard threw three interceptions in the game along with one touchdown pass at the end of the fourth quarter.

Hopkinton remains undefeated on the season with a record of 5-0.

D-S fell to 2-3 on the year and will travel to Medway on Friday Oct. 14 for another Tri-Valley League matchup.
