D-S Swim Team Gets First Win of the Season

The Raiders are now 1-1 on the season.

The Dover-Sherborn varsity coed swim team beat Medfield, 107-76, in the team's second meet of the season Friday night.

"Medfield is one of the toughest teams to beat in the Tri-Valley League, so this was a great win for us," said captain Leah Byrnes.

“It was especially rewarding because Dover-Sherborn and Medfield were part of the same team until two years ago. This win against Medfield, having built our team from 21 swimmers and one diver last year to 35 swimmers including 3 divers this year, proves that D-S can be a strong, competitive team on its own,” Byrnes said.

The Raiders won the first event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay, with strong performances by Mary Keough swimming butterfly, Stephen Mayfield with the backstroke, Connor McCormick with the breaststroke, and Greg Michalowski swimming freestyle.

D-S is now 1-1 on the season. Their next meet is Tuesday, Dec. 20 against Norton at Wheaton College.
