Dover And Sherborn Residents Right On Target

As members of the team Hot Shots, Dover and Sherborn residents helped clinch the third straight win at the Mass. State Open Trap Tournament.

Note: The following was provided by Gib Trub

The first varsity squad from the Fin Fur & Feather Club in Millis successfully defended their Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) title. The event was held in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Open Trap Championships June 11 at the Minuteman Sportsman’s Club, Burlington, Mass.

With a total score of 922 (out of 1,000) the team of Chris Landfield (Medfield), Nate Lundie (Wellesley), Matt Reinemann (Dover), Tyler Swanberg (Wellesley) and Alec Trub (Sherborn) won their third consecutive title. For Landfield and Trub it was their third title, Lundie and Swanberg celebrated their second and Reinemann participated in his first.

In addition Chris Landfield had the overall high individual score of the tournament with 194. Nate Lundie finished 2nd with 192, Tyler Swanberg third at 186 and fellow FFF Hot Shots teammate and Squad Leader for the second Varsity team Bennett Palmer finished fourth at 183. (Scores are out of a possible 200 targets).

The Hot Shots should be in great position to defend again next year as well with only Trub graduating and the #2 Varsity team placing third and the #1 JV team finishing second  in their division and John Bush winning the rookie division.
