Former D-S Hockey Coach Balzerini Named Milford Head Coach, Search Underway For Replacement

D-S Athletic Director Heath Rollins said he is hopeful that they will be able to find Balzerini's replacement before the end of the school year.

Former Dover-Sherborn varsity hockey coach Mike Balzerini has been named the new head coach of Milford High School. D-S is currently searching for his replacement and is hoping to have a new coach in place before the end of the school year.

“It’s a good place for him because he lives there. His kids go to school there so it’s a chance to be around them. He’s got a large young family so they’ll be able to play with him. He has four boys that are all in the Milford schools,” said D-S High School Athletic Director Heath Rollins.

“We supported him in his decision and thank him for what he’s done for our program,” Rollins said.

As far as finding Balzerini's replacement, they have posted the job listing and Rollins said they have received interest in the position.

“We’ll be trying to finish it up here next week in naming our new coach,” Rollins said. “The timing of spring sports has prevented me from doing it as quick as we’d like but now that things are wrapped up we can buckle down and meet with the people I have to meet with.”

Rollins said they were made aware of Balzerini leaving on May 23 and that there will be plenty of time to get a new coach and program into place.

“We’ve had good interest in the position from our postings,” Rollins said.
