Girls Soccer Dominates In Win Over Nantucket

The girls will face fourth seeded Seekonk on Friday in the semi-finals at Taunton High School at 1:00 p.m.

The D-S girls varsity soccer team traveled to Nantucket on Wednesday to face the Whalers in a Div. 3 South Sectional quarter-final match.

The Raiders dominated in their second straight road playoff game winning 6-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Meghan Hall had her second shut out of the tournament deflecting five Nantucket shots throughout the game.

Junior Taylor Coutts led the way for D-S with two goals in the game.

Senior captain Liz McMillen, sophomore Jackie Goudreault, senior Nadine Cutler and senior captain Maddie Dunn all had goals for the Raiders. Senior Ellie Melanson chipped in with two assists.

The girls overbearing offense was too much for Nantucket to handle getting 25 shots on goal in the game.

The ninth seeded Raiders will move on to the semi-finals to face Seekonk at Taunton High School on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Seekonk is the fourth seed in the bracket and won their last game over Old Colony 7-1.

The winner of Friday's game will advance to the finals.
