Raiders Boys Tennis Beats Medfield

The Raiders won, 3-2, over Medfield on Tuesday.

The D-S Raiders boys varsity tennis team defeated Medfield High School, 3-2, Tuesday afternoon.

1st Singles:  Christian Baker (D-S- sophomore) d. Jay Latimer (M- junior) 7-6 (8-6), 6-2

2nd Singles:  Kevin Lynch (M- junior) d. Harry Stone (D-S- junior) 6-3, 6-4

3rd Singles:  Dan Cher (M- sophomore) d. Stefano Barbier (D-S- sophomore) 6-2, 6-2

1st Doubles:  Nick Barbier (D-S- sophomore) / Alex Qian-Wang (D-S- sophomore) d. Arthur Lewis (M- senior) / Alex Kerisotes (M- senior) 6-2, 4-6, 7-5

2nd Doubles:  Mike Shaner (D-S- ) / Alex Adamczyk (D-S - freshman) d. Bennett Palmer (M - senior) / Matt Kimball (M - senior) 6-4, 6-4

Dover Sherborn is now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Tri-Valley League.

Medfield is now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the TVL.

All five matches were close, but 1st singles and 1st doubles were particularly so.

At 1st singles, D-S Sophomore Christian Baker broke serve at 5-6 to get into a tie breaker and won that 8-6 after Medfield's Jay Latimer saved two set points to get even at 6-6.

At 1st doubles, the D-S pair of sophomores Nick Barbier and Alex Qian-Wang came back from 3-5 in the third set to win the match. The overall match came down to the 2nd doubles pairings and DS won in two tight sets.
