Raiders Get First TVL Win On Road In Bellingham [VIDEO]

The Raiders won, 33-20, on the road in Bellingham Friday night.

The D-S Raiders varsity football team used solid defense and a well-balanced offensive attack to get their first win in the Tri-Valley League this season defeating Bellingham, 33-20, Friday night.

The Blackhawks struck first scoring a touchdown on their first posession of the game to go ahead 8-0 in the first quarter.

But the Raiders defense was resilient and kept Bellingham scoreless until there was 5:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders defense picked off two Kevin McTomney passes and recovered two fumbles to keep the Blackhawks from gaining any momentum.

Offensively, the Raiders were glad to see runningback Matt Heinlein back after he sat out last week's game with a leg injury.

Heinlein ran for three touchdowns and threw for another in the game.

D-S is now 2-2 on the season and have a short week as they travel to Hopkinton on Thursday to play the Hillers.

Bellingham is now 0-4 on the season.
