Raiders Win Big Over Medfield Behind Hat Trick From Jordan

Raiders senior Sam Jordan scored the first three goals in a 5-0 rout of Medfield Tuesday night.

Do you remember how you spent your seventeenth birthday?

Sam Jordan probably will as he scored three goals to lead his team to victory over Medfield Tuesday night.

The Raiders boys varsity soccer team won handily over the Warriors, 5-0, at Frothingham Field at D-S High School, Tuesday. Largely because of Jordan's performance.

“He’s a stud of a kid that I’m glad I don’t have to play against,” said D-S Head Coach Joe Gruseck. “He really has good field presence. You can't give him too much room."

Medfield held their own for about the first ten minutes of the game. The Warriors were quicker to the ball and aggresive offensively.

But then the Raiders became the aggressors when Sam Jordan scored his first goal of the game with 27:36 remaining in the first half to take a 1-0 lead.

“Give Medfield a lot of credit they came out and put us on our heels early,” Gruseck said. “They had us pinned in for the first 10-12 minutes or so and give them a lot of credit. We were able to persevere and put a ball in the back of the net.”

Jordan scored another goal at the end of the first half and completed the hat trick within the first minute of the second half to put the score at 3-0 and the game out of reach for Medfield.

“We knew right off the bat. He’s a big kid, he’s a fast kid and he got inside of us a couple times and he had a couple nice goals too, nothing to shake your head at. If he did that against any other team he’d have a hat trick against them too,” said Medfield Head Coach Jason Heim.

"It’s nice when you’ve got a kid that big that can run and he has that much skill and he can finish too,” Heim said.

Walker Littlehale and Charles Blizard each scored the other two goals for the Raiders.

D-S is now 2-0-0 on the season. Their next game is scheduled to be away at Bellingham High School on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
