Sherborn Native on Roster of Team in College Bus Crash

St. Michael's team bus was involved in a crash Tuesday in New York.

A bus carrying members of the Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team, which has a Sherborn player on its roster, was involved in a traffic accident on Interstate 87, in Clifton Park, N.Y., Tuesday. No major injures are being reported. 

Jared Spence is the Sherborn native.

The college is reporting all of the players on the team and the travel party are safe and were taken to a local fire station where they received food and other support.

WBZ Radio is reporting there were four minor injuries. Included in the group, according to the college were 34 student athletes, two coaches and an athletic trainer. St. Michael's was en route to a game at Mercy College, which is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m.

"As the accident is still under investigation, and may be for a considerable length of time, we cannot comment on any further details at this time. Our attention and resources are committed to supporting our student-athletes and staff members involved in the accident," said the college in a press release.
