A Second Introduction of Sorts

Here's another intro of sorts to my blog and blogging style, along with a brief history of my original blog.

I couldn’t help but feel that a second introduction of sorts was in order. I’ve been writing on Tay Tay for three years and it’s not like I can just jump in with a post about Isaiah 22.

It’s like making a new friend, you need to build it up you can’t just randomly say “So a lot’s been going on…” Anyway I digress.

I touched on how my blog began in my first post but I want to tell you the whole story start to finish. It all started in 2008 when I went on my first mission trip to Mississippi with my church. It was a fantastic experience, especially for a young man deep in his faith searching for a way to live it out in real way. Little did I know that things would get a lot bigger for me in the next week.

On the trip we all had to write a post for the church blog, whether it be fate, humor, or a combination of both I volunteered a friend for the job only to have it backfire. A bit upset that my joke did not go as planned I plotted to my friends how I would write my post about nothing “That’s all a blog is right?” I asked.

I ended up writing a brief but thoughtful post though but not without a promise to start my own blog when I got back home. After a restful night’s sleep and a long session of telling stories of how my trip was I remembered by promise and soon started Tay Tay’s Random Blog on blogspot.com.

The plan was to keep it up for a week and take it down, which of course did not happen. I ended up writing my thoughts, which in my case were on the Bible and baseball. Instead of a joke my blog became an honest search for answers to my questions, namely “What does the Bible mean and how can I apply it to my life?”

It became a journey in faith, both intellectual and emotional as I struggled with doubt, sin, and the simple fact of being more or less alone as a man of faith.

I’m not one of those “holier than thou” Christians, that’s not what my blog is about. What I write is honest, it’s my thoughts on the Bible and any theology that comes with it.

Well there you have I the story of my blogging career and now I hope to continue it much further, thanks and keep reading.
