Students Donate To Lions Club Japan Relief Fund

At the June 6 Sherborn Community Center Foundation Annual Meeting, the Foundation’s student directors presented a portion of the proceeds from their recent Battle of the Bands event to the Lions Club International Fund’s Japan Relief Fund.

“We wanted to reach out to impact the larger community and that is why we chose the Lions’ Japan Relief Fund”, said Michael Littlejohn, student director of the Sherborn Community Foundation.

During the planning phase for the Battle of the Bands, the Student Director Committee voted to assist the Japanese people who were impacted by the recent earthquake and tsunami.

The Battle of the Bands included 6 talented bands and singers from the D-S community.

For the third year, this has been a very popular venue for the community at large and was well attended.
