Weekend Planner: Labor Day Weekend, Fair Festivals, Dancing and More!

A selection of weekend events around Needham, Dover and Sherborn for Labor Day Weekend.

Free Fun Fridays is back, and is heading to the New Repertory Theatre this weekend. The New Rep is putting on two free performances of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," one at 10 a.m., the other at 2 p.m. at the Arsenal Street theatre in Watertown. Tickets will be given out one hour before to each performance, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Ben and Jerry's is hosting a music festival: The Fair Trade Music Fest is this weekend, on Saturday, at the Boylston Plaza at the Shops at Prudential Center mall from 2 to 7 p.m., featuring the Ryan Montbleau Band. Come and try Fair Trade treats and enjoy the show.

If you've got kids interested in dancing, perhaps they'd like to move to the republic of dance. Dance Republic, a studio in Wellesley, is opening its doors for their fusion program at 1 p.m. on Sunday. It's an opportunity for would-be dancers to check out a class.

If you're heading to the Needham Farmers Market, their guest non-profit this week is Pipal Leaf Yoga, and Sylvia Quiroga will be the visiting artist. Farmers Market funs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. this and every Sunday through Oct. 27. Location is the front lawn of First Parish Church in Needham.

Monday is Labor Day. It's a day off! The first Monday in September is set aside to recognize and celebrate the work that workers do around the country. Do something fun! Get out the grill for one last barbecue before it gets cold, or host a game night.
