Do you have a passion for culture and the arts in Dover?

If you have a love for the arts and culture in our community we have a place for your with the Dover Cultural Council.

"Arts, sciences and humanities build healthier, more livable, vital communities. They are essential to a strong education system.  They contribute enormously to our economy."  ( www.massculturalcouncil.org) .

The Dover Cultural Council is a dedicated to promoting and bringing the arts, sciences and humanities through LCC grants to the Dover Community.   Our committee meets each fall to review applications from local venues in Dover that apply for grants for the following calendar year.  The grants are typically requested by local groups including but not limited to the Council of Aging,  the Dover public schools, the Dover Library, Powisett Farm, the Dover Foundation and the Dover Historical Society.  We have helped fund programs ranging from performing artists, guest speakers, historic preservation projects,  and much more to benefit the Dover community.

The council is comprised of 6 members who have a 2 year term which can be renewed once.  This year we have 3 members who have completed their terms and will not be returning next fall.  We have 3 openings and would love some new members.  This is a great way to give back to the vibrant arts and cultural community in our local town.   Please The time commitment is minimal.  We generally meet 2-4 times in the fall to review and approve submitted applications.  If you are interested in joining our group please contact Chairperson Wendy Bornstein at wsbornstein@gmail.com or 617-962-1975.    You can also visit our webpage at www.doverma.org
