On Monday the Sherborn Police Department received a call from a homeowner that coyotes had killed eight sheep and wounded several others at their home on Western Avenue.
On Monday, the Sherborn Police Department received a call from a homeowner that coyotes had killed eight sheep and wounded several others at their home on Western Avenue. The number of coyote sightings has been growing in Dover and Sherborn and while authorities say that humans are generally not at risk there are preventative measures that can be taken to try and keep coyotes away from your property. “There is not a safety issue with children and families. Coyotes go after sheep. Sheep happen to be available at this particular residence and that’s kind of what happened,” said Sherborn Police Officer Paul Van Vliet. Monday- May 7, 2012 Well Being Check- 12:18 p.m. Powissett Street, Grossman Day Camp- Medfield PD requested a check of the Grossman Camp area for an individual that may be depressed, he was last seen in Medfield on Sunday 5/07/12 at about 17:30. The individual works part time for Hale Reservation. Officer checked the area with negative results. Camp staff were advised of the situation and will call us if they see him. Sherborn residents will now have a free, safe method to dispose of unused or expired prescription medication thanks to a new drug collection program announced today by Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone and Police Chief Richard Thompson. MedReturn Drug Collection Units were delivered Friday to 29 police departments in Middlesex County, including Sherborn. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office purchased the units for the departments through drug forfeiture funds, which can be used for the purpose of drug rehabilitation, drug education and other anti-drug efforts. “Illegal use of prescription drugs is the nation’s fastest growing drug problem,” DA Leone said. “Part of the …

The operator struck a tree and was hospitalized with chest pains Wednesday night.
A Framingham man was hospitalized Wednesday night after crashing his car into a tree while swerving to avoid a deer in Sherborn. Helio Guedes, 46, of Framingham was taken to Metro West Medical Center in Framingham after complaining of chest pains from the accident on Western Avenue. Guedes was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan and the airbags were deployed during the accident, according to Sherborn Police Sergeant David Bento. The call for the accident came in at 8:42 p.m. Bento did not have an update on Guedes' condition as of 1:00 a.m. Thursday.

Brian Davis, 42, of 24 Adams St., Medfield, was found dead in the Charles River Monday at approximately 3:24 p.m. after he was reported missing earlier in the day.
MEDFIELD-Medfield Police found the body of a Medfield man in the Charles River Monday just hours after his wife reported him missing, according to police reports. Brian Davis, 42, of 24 Adams St., Medfield, was found dead in the Charles River – not far from the shoreline – near the Sherborn line at approximately 3:24 p.m., according to Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. While the cause of death is unknown at this time, Meaney said there was no indication of trauma or foul play.
