D-S Alpine Ski State Championship Results

The girls came in seventh place overall, while the boys came in ninth.

  The Dover-Sherborn boys' and girls' alpine ski teams competed in the MIAA Alpine Ski State Championship on Tuesday at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, Mass. The girls' finished seventh overall out of 22 teams competing. The girls got 192 points in the slalom and 194 points in the giant slalom for a total of 386 points. The boys' finished ninth overall out of 21 teams. The boys scored 169 points in the slalom and 211 points in the giant slalom for a total of 380 points. Season Over for Boys' Basketball Team

D-S missed 8 out of 12 free throws in the game.

Every kid who plays basketball dreams about it. Counting down the final seconds of a game in your head and throwing up a desperation shot for the win with time expiring. Unfortunately that was not the reality for D-S senior captain Matt Heinlein who hoisted up a three-pointer with the Raiders down, 52-50, in the waning moments of their Div. 3 South Sectional preliminary game against Foxborough. The ball hit the rim and the buzzer sounded and the Raiders' season was over. D-S Boys' Hockey Dominates Over Dighton-Rehoboth

The Raiders outshot the Falcons 37-9 in the game.

FALL RIVER-The Dover-Sherborn boys’ ice hockey team dominated its preliminary round match-up against the combined Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk team. The Raiders built a 5-0 lead early in the third period and cruised to a 6-2 win. The 19th seeded Raiders had an early scare when the Falcons had a shot ring off the crossbar inside the first minute of the game, but that was one of the few times that D-R came close to scoring until late in the third period. In fact D-S outshot the Falcons 37-9. Cole Tibbets opened the scoring six minutes into the game as he slid across the crease and stuffed home a backhand. Boys' Hockey to Play Dighton-Rehoboth in Div. 3 South Tournament

The game will be played at Driscoll Arena in Fall River.

The Dover-Sherborn boys' varsity ice hockey team will open up postseason play in a preliminary matchup against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in Fall River at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are seeded 19th with a 7-5-8 record out of the 23 teams in the tournament. Dighton-Rehoboth is seeded 14th with a 12-7-1 record. The game will be played at Driscoll Arena, 272 Elsbree Street, Fall River. The winner of the game will draw No. 3 seeded Pembroke in the first round of the tournament.

D-S Draws Foxborough in Div. 3 South Tournament

The Raiders will play at home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

The MIAA has announced today that the D-S boys' basketball team will face Foxborough in the Division 3 South preliminary round. The game will be on Monday, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Dover-Sherborn High School. The Raiders are the 16th seed out of 18 teams in the tournament. D-S ended the regular season with a record of 10-10 while Foxborough went 7-13 on the year. This is the second season in a row that D-S has made the postseason under head coach Rick Grady. The winner will move on to a first round matchup against top seeded Wareham on Wednesday. Wareham has a record of 20-0 on the year.

MADS Gymnastics Squad Prepping for Sectionals

Two girls from D-S will be competing in all four events on this weekend's South Sectionals.

The Medfield-Ashland-Dover-Sherborn (MADS) gymnastics team has been practicing hard this week for the South Sectionals on Saturday. Coach Michelle Hopping believes that girls from D-S will have a big impact on whether the team moves on to States. Dover-Sherborn senior captain Jen Cutler and sophomore Katie McPherson will be the two players competing in all four events - vault, floor dance, balance beam and uneven bars - in Saturday's Sectionals. There will be six individuals for each event and two in the all-around. Four of the top 12 teams will advance. Cutler has been a leader on the team this season and was chosen as one of 20 senior girls in Massachusetts to represent the state in the Nationals in Ft. Meyers in May. Her teammate Alyssa…

Lady Raiders Fall in Overtime on Senior Night

Junior Abbey Greene led all scorers with 27 points in the game.

The Lady Raiders basketball season came to an end on their home court Friday with a, 54-53, overtime loss to Westwood. Junior Abby Greene led all scorers with 27 points on the night. Senior captain Andrea Marx added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Lady Raiders. It was also Senior Night where players Nicole MacDonald, Devon Collins and  captains Andrea Marx, Janet Raftery, Leah Salamone and AJ Desert, along with their families, were honored by players and fans. The team finished the season with a 7-13 record and went 6-12 in the Tri-Valley League.

With a, 4-4, tie against Holliston on Wednesday, the Dover-Sherborn varsity boys' hockey team locked up an appearance in the postseason. The Raiders record stands at 6-4-8 on the season. Here are some photos of the team throughout the season.

Boys Basketball to Advance to Playoffs with Win on Senior Night

The girls' team came away with a road victory over Millis.

The D-S boys' varsity basketball team will advance to the postseason tournament after getting their tenth win of the season Tuesday night. The Raiders (10-9) beat Millis, 64-38, on Senior Night in what could be their final home game of the season. As part of Senior Night, seniors Matt Heinlein, Chris Flight and Nate Jenkins were honored on the court for their contributions to the team. Jenkins led D-S with 19 points and 7 rebounds in the game. Chris Flight had 12 points and 7 assists and junior Ned Linehan chipped in with 9 points in the game. Lady Raiders Beat Mohawks The D-S Lady Raiders defeated Millis, 59-37, on the road Tuesday night. D-S Girls' Swim Team Finishes 12th in Sectionals

Many of the D-S swimmers qualified to swim in the state finals this weekend at Harvard.

The D-S boys' and girls' varsity swim teams competed in the Central/South Sectionals at MIT’s Zesiger Sports Center over the weekend The girls finished 12th overall out of 44 teams on Saturday. The boys finished 35th overall on Sunday. D-S Highlights: -Mary Keough came in 3rd in 100 freestyle and 8th in 200 Individual Medley and will continue onto States. -Emily Hands cut off 2 seconds of her original time in the 100 Breaststroke at the sectionals.  -Girls (Morgan Furber, Sadie Thompson, Julia Pearson, Caroline Body) 400 free relay and will continue onto States.  -Girls (Julia Pearson, Emily Hands, Mary Keough, and Morgan Furber) medley relay will continue onto States. -Kate West swam the 200 and 500 freestyle and will be swimming those at…
