Raider football players performed a variety of services for Dover seniors this fall.

The following information was provided by Nancy Simms from the Dover Council on Aging: Twenty members of the Dover Sherborn High School football team, half as many parents and Head Coach Joey Schotland came together to provide a variety of fall services to fifteen of Dover’s senior residents. The 2012 annual DSHS Football – Dover COA Fall Community Service Day took place on Saturday October 13 and was a huge success for all involved. The high school boys performed a variety of yard work services for their Senior neighbors including, leaf raking, brush clearing, bush trimming, and driveway sweeping. Park and Rec, wine tasting, new fire chief,
1. The Dover Park and Recreation Commission will meet today at 7:15 a.m. to discuss a number of different administrative and parks issues. 2. Check out a free wine tasting today at 5 p.m. at Higgins Wine and Spirits in Dover. 3. The Sherborn Fire Chief Selection Committee will meet today at 9 a.m. to discuss the next steps in choosing a chief. 4. Check out the Free Community Dinner in Needham, put on by the Carter Memorial UMC and First Baptist Churches of Needham. It's at 5 O'clock tonight. 5. Lastly, tomorrow Dover-Sherborn goes back to school. Good luck to all the students in the community!

Dover-Sherborn High School football coaches and players taught future Raiders fundamentals during a fun four-day camp.
After three days of hard work learning the fundamentals of the game, 50 campers at the 2012 Fall Raider Football Camp were given the opportunity to compete in the Raider Football Camp Combine on the last night of camp. Coach Joey Schotland, who will be entering his second year as the head coach at DSHS, led the camp for students entering grades 6-9. He was assisted by his staff and some of the DSHS players. The camp was also held last year. "We're trying to build a program," Schotland said. "It starts at the middle school. We want to be competitive year in and year out." Schotland set up the combine much like the NFL Combine is set up. Players competed in the pro agility drill, the longest kick, the longest throw and the 40-yard dash. …
