Fire Tears Through, Destroys Sherborn Home

A fire roared through a Western Ave., Sherborn home earlier tonight, closing the street and forcing the Sherborn Fire Department to sound multiple alarms.

A fire broke out at 255 Western Ave. in Sherborn around 8:30 p.m. earlier tonight, forcing multiple alarms to be sounded and assistance from several area fire departments and leaving the house destroyed. "When we arrived there was heavy fire coming from the first floor and into the second floor on the left and rear of the house," Sherborn Fire Chief Neil McPherson said. "We didn't know upon arrival if anyone was home, but we were able to quickly ascertain that the owners weren't home when the fire broke out." The fire departments from Dover, Holliston, Ashland and Framingham helped the Sherborn Fire Department fight the blaze. Dover Police and Fire Log: Fire Put Out Together

The following information was provided by the Dover Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, October 12 No Papers in Hand (2:30 a.m.) - An officer made a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Centre St. and Knollwood Dr. A citation was issued for not having an inspection sticker and for not having the registration in possession. Fire (7:29 p.m.) - A Pleasant St. resident calls to report a fire has escaped his fireplace and the home is on fire. Police officers and fire personnel responded and were able to knock the fire down quickly. Pleasant St. was closed temporarily. The Fire Department ventilated the home.

Monday, June 25 Mailbox Damaged (10:39 a.m.) - A Village Hill Road resident reported to the Dover Police Department that between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. someone had pulled a tray from his mailbox and ripped a the Boston Globe box off the side of the mailbox, causing minor damage. Both the mailbox and newspaper box were thrown on his lawn.  Tuesday, June 26 Rocks Thrown at Window (1:33 a.m.) - A Walpole Street resident reported that an individual had been throwing rocks at his windows. Officers responded to the area and observed a vehicle leaving the neighborhood. Tree on Wires (12:43 p.m.) - Police responded to Mill Street on a report of a tree that fell and was seen leaning on secondary electrical wires. NSTAR was notified of the incident.  …

Funeral Services For Dover Firefighter/EMT Sean Wall

Dover firefighter and EMT Sean Wall died at the age of 32, Sunday, June 10.

WALL, Sean Andrew Died suddenly on June 10, 2012 at the age of 32. Loving son of Carol A. (Bailey) Wall and the late John Wall. Brother of Danielle C. Tinlin and her husband Jed of Norwood. Cherished uncle of JT and Jared Tinlin of Norwood. Nephew of Richard Wall of Norwood and Tommy Wall of Acushnet. Also survived by many cousins, relatives, and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday morning at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., NORWOOD, from 8:00 AM-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Car matched a description of a vehicle involved in similar incidents in Westwood and Norwood several minutes earlier. Officers found the car and spoke to and advised all occupants. Monday- May 21, 2012 Motor Vehicle Complaint- 5:22 p.m. Centre Street, Norfolk Hunt Club- Reporting party stated that his neighbor's girlfriend drove away from his residence highly intoxicated. The reporting party further stated that she was heading inbound on Centre Street. He added that he observed her slumped over the wheel at approximately 12:00 p.m. that day. Sgt.
