Monday, Dec. 31 11:31 p.m.: A Rocky Brook Drive resident reported a group of six to eight people fighting in the area. Officers responded and transported three people to the station and later released them to their parents. Wednesday, Jan. 2 1:02 p.m.: Officers responded to a call of a one-vehicle crash on County Street. Officers determined the accident occurred in Walpole and stood by while that department was notified. Thursday, Jan. 3 1:31 p.m.: A caller stated a worker had "put a nail through his hand." Officers responded and transported the worker to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

Saturday, Dec. 29 7:21 p.m.: A caller reported a FedEx truck that had gone off the roadway. Needham towing responded and pulled the vehicle back onto the road. 11:59 p.m.: Officers responded to an alert from a Medfield caller who reported children playing on the Medfield/Dover line on County Street. Sunday, Dec. 30 2:12 a.m.: A caller reported a car parked on Centre Street with footprints leading into the woods. Police responded and transported a person to Valley Road.

Tuesday, Dec. 25 12:15 a.m.: An officer reported a problem with the boiler at the Caryl Community House. Building maintenance said they would not come that night to fix the problem. 8:39 p.m.: Officers responded to a residential fire alarm at Wilsondale Street. The call was cancelled by the alarm company and was confirmed to be an accidental activation. Wednesday, Dec. 26 9:19 p.m.: A caller reported a deer that was struck by a car on Trout Brood Road and told police the animal is suffering and should be put down.

The dog suffered internal injuries and is recovering after surgery.
A 5-year-old dog named Sammy survived a 40-foot fall off a cliff in Dover this past weekend, according to a report on Boston.CBSlocal.com. The incident took place at Noanet Woods in Dover, where local resident Paul Finnegan took his dog, Fiona, and Sammy, who belongs to his sister-in-law, according to the report. Dover Police Officer Jon Cash, as well as another officer, hoisted Sammy to safety, having tied a tow rope to his harness, and pulling him up. Sammy suffered serious internal injuries, but is now recovering after undergoing surgery on Tuesday, according to the report.

Dover and Sherborn authorities urge caution on the streets this evening.
Sherborn Police Chief Rick Thompson is discouraging any trick-or-treaters from heading out after school. Considering the effects of this past weekend’s early season nor’easter, Thompson said, “It would be irresponsible to say it would be safe to go trick-or-treating this evening.” He said there are still tree limbs and power lines down in the streets. “NSTAR is trying to get it done as quickly as possible,” Thompson noted. Thompson added that currently the Sherborn police internet has been down and they have no way to provide mass e-mails to warn the residents. Sue Ellis, of Dover, passed away Monday night after succumbing to her injuries from a fall on Saturday.
Update: According to a spokeswoman at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Sue Ellis passed away Monday night from her injuries. A 60-year-old Dover woman was transported to a Boston hospital by medical helicopter after suffering head trauma from a fall off of a ladder this afternoon. Sue Ellis, of Church Street, was up on a ladder doing work near the roof of her house when she fell, according to police. When authorities arrived Ellis was in and out of consciousness. She was transported by ambulance to a large field at the corner of Farm St. and Springdale Ave. where was then taken by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, according to Dover Police Officer Jon Cash.

Custodians had no luck getting the animal out of the classroom. Animal Control Officer and officers assisted with capture of squirrel. Elm Bank in Dover and Wellesley is back open after a chlorine leak at a pumping station on the property caused the reservation to be closed earlier today by authorities.
Elm Bank Reservation is now back open after a hazmat crew was called in earlier today to assist with a chlorine leak at a pumping station on the property in Dover. Elm Bank, which is in Dover and Wellesley, opened back up around 2:00 p.m. today. Earlier, authorities were only allowing hazmat crews on to the reservation while the leak was being tended to. According to Dover Police the leak has been contained and there was no serious threat posed.

Dover Police Chief Peter A. McGowan is reporting that the town has been hit hard by Hurricane Irene Sunday. "Dover Highway, Dover Fire, and Dover PD have all been working hard to respond to well over 100 calls reporting power outages, tree limbs and trees down, wires down, and related calls," said McGowan via email. "There has been at least two houses struck by falling trees and limbs, and many road closures due to trees blocking the street.
