Area Firefighters Battling House Fire in Dover

Firefighters from Dover, Sherborn, Medfield, Walpole, Needham and Westwood are currently working to put out a house fire on Walpole Street in Dover.

Over 30 firefighters from Dover and surrounding towns are currently working to put out a house fire on Walpole Street in Dover, according to Dover-Sherborn Patch local editor Benjamin Paulin. Dover Fire Department received a call around 11 a.m. that a two-story home located on 33 Walpole St., Dover was reportedly on fire. Dover Fire Department requested mutual aid from surrounding towns and currently has fire units from Sherborn, Medfield, Walpole, Needham and Westwood on scene. Dover Police officer Jon Cash said an elderly couple occupies the home but he believes nobody was in the home at the time of the fire. Local editor Benjamin Paulin is on scene and …

I am so glad that the people who lived in this house are ok. A big Thank you to our Dover Fire Department (and neighboring towns too) for their prompt response! And thank you DS Patch for posting this breaking news. I was driving down Walpole Street about 3:15 and wondered what the heck was going on since the fire was done, but there were some police and many cars still about near that house.   more ›
