Glazed Donut Sandwich: Yummy or Gluttonous?

Dunkin' Donuts launched its Glazed Donut Sandwich across the country Friday.

Dunkin’ Donuts unveiled the Glazed Donut Sandwich on its menu Friday, June 7, which also happens to be National Donut Day. The Canton-based company said the new sandwich, which includes a fried egg and bacon sandwiched between a glazed donut, has been tested in some Northeast locations. It is actually fewer calories (360) than the coffee shop’s turkey sausage sandwich, according to the Associated Press. Are you going to try the Glazed Donut Sandwich? What do you think of the idea? Angry Man Dumps Coffee on Woman's Car, Apologizes (Kind Of)

Man says sorry for scaring a woman in the Dunkin Donuts drive-thru, and more.

Editor's Note: Patch has no control over the status of these posts on Craigslist and how long they remain available. What we learned this week: there are a few guys out there looking for pot smoking "buddies" to hang out with, people still don't know the difference between "you're" and "your," and there are lots of curb alerts. A Dunkin Debaucle (we didn't say drunken, we said Dunkin) A man issued a heartfelt apology on Craigslist, saying he is sorry he perhaps made a woman pee her pants in the Dunkin Donuts Drive-Thru in Marlborough recently. Apparently, the man was enraged when he saw the woman chuck an old iced coffee cup out the window. In anger, he picked up the cup, knocked on the window, asked if she had dropped something, and …

TELL US: Should Foam Beverage, Food Containers be Banned?

Residents in Brookline supported a move to ban the use of all foam food and beverage containers, a move that was approved at Special Town Meeting.

One group of residents in the Bay State has taken a stand against the use of plastic foam food and beverage containers at local restaurants.  A Special Town Meeting in Brookline earlier this week voted to ban the use of polystyrene (plastic foam) food and beverage containers for take-out or to-go at food establishments in town. The ban will go into effect on Dec. 1, 2013. The move came after Town Meeting member Nancy Heller proposed the article due to the health risks involved in the use of the cups. As a result, the move was approved by a vote of 169-27.  But not everyone was in favor of the move. Canton-based Dunkin Donuts spoke against the measure on Tuesday; spokesperson Christine Riley said that, despite looking, the company has not …

You Want a Free Donut? Today is National Donut Day

June 1 is recognized as National Donut Day with local Dunkin Donuts taking part in the event.

It seems like there is a special day for just about everything these days and the donut is no exception. National Donut Day is Friday and in honor of their big day, donut shops across the nation — including many in the area — will hand out free donuts to customers. Dunkin' Donuts is on board with the holiday. For a free donut, you'll need to purchase a beverage (hot or cold), according to their "Behind the Beans" blog. You might want to do this in the morning. They say that they'll hand out one free donut of your choice "while supplies last." (Could Dunkin' Donuts ever really run out of donuts?) Find your nearest store using their restaurant locator. The national day itself, always celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was …

Hardman: Massachusetts is My Home

When you are away from home, you realize how special Massachusetts really is.

Four days away and the truth is known. I am a homebody. Sometime I will get a tattoo of the Bay State, preferably a place where people can't see it. I'm writing this from the middle of Georgia in the woods somewhere. There's no commuter rail, and I would definitely kill for a large iced coffee, cream and sugar, from Dunkin’ Donuts. I need to hear the sound of the commuter rail, not birds in the middle of winter. The place here is beautiful, right on a lake, but it ain't home. I miss my wife big-time. (OK, that should be huge points for the husband of the year contest, where I'll probably be in last place when she sees all the laundry I'm bringing home.) The other day a nice woman from another part of the country asked me how I survive …
