POLL: Are You Concerned About EEE This Summer?

The mosquito-borne illness has been detected in mosquito pools in Canton and Easton so far. Will it make it to Dover or Sherborn?

Mosquitoes carrying Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) were found closer to the Dover-Sherborn this week.  The most recent detection of the mosquito-borne illness was found in a pool of mosquitoes in Canton on Thursday, though Sharon Public Health Nurse Sheila Miller said risk levels have remain unchanged in the area. The disease was first detected in Easton last week, prompting officials to raise the area's threat of mosquito-borne illness from “moderate” to “high.” As such, state officials announced Tuesday that aerial spraying will occur in Easton and 10 other towns after more EEE positive mosquitoes were found on the Easton/Raynham line. Middleboro, Norton, Plympton, Raynham, Taunton, West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Halifax and Lakeville…
