Pet of the Week: Brendan

Visit Brendan and other adoptable dogs at Greyhound Friends in Hopkinton.

Here's the next Pet of the Week: Brendan! Brendan (Chasen Brendan) is a big exuberant boy! We've learned he does not like to be crated. He would do best in a home with another greyhound to help him settle in (he has a bit of anxiety). Brendan is very sweet and outgoing. He loves to give kisses and lean up against you. He isn't a loud "screamy" type of dog. Once this boy finds his forever home, he'll just blossom! Please come by and meet this boy. He's very special!  To meet Brendan, and many other dogs visit the Greyhound Friends website.

Pets of the Week: Amazing Grace & Anna Banana

The Medfield Animal Shelter is looking for a loving home to adopt these two cats together.

Meet Anna and Grace Anna and Grace were brought to the Medfield Animal Shelter by our extremely kind-hearted manager who couldn't bear the thought of these friendly and adorable girls being put back on the street.  They were taken in and spayed by a rescue group in central MA that has been so inundated with cats in need that they have no other options other than to make sure the cats they rescue from the streets can no longer reproduce and then return them to where they were found, even if they are friendly enough to be adopted.  It is a very sad situation that there are still way more cats than homes in Massachusetts. They will be ready for a new home in a week or so, but we are accepting applications for them now. The gray tiger is …

Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week: Leroy Brown

Leroy is available for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. Meet Leroy Brown Leroy came to the Medfield Animal Shelter as a result of a police investigation. His owner, who had loved him and taken good care of him, was sent to jail and left Leroy with a friend who had him living in a tent, but that didn't work out and now he is waiting patiently to be adopted. He's been with us for over a month hoping against hope there might be one more chance to share his big love again with an appreciative owner. Leroy likes to kiss as many faces as he can and to leave his drool on car windows as he cruises down Rt 109, ears flapping and tail thumping while the Beach boys belt out Help me Rhonda. His 9 year old body has its share of …

Pet of the Week: Lulu

Each week we feature animals up for adoption from the Neponset Valley Humane Society.

Lulu is a super sweet, very affectionate, lovable and gentle cat. She is mostly white with gray patches on her head. She is about 6 or 7 years old and has spent her entire life in a tiny apartment where she lives with her human mother and feline brother. Lulu loves people. She is accustomed to having many visitors and is always eager to greet them. She has had regular visits from the grandchildren and she enjoys being around children. Her owner's health is failing and she is no longer able to care for Lulu. Sadly Lulu is overweight. This can be helped over time by regulating Lulu's food intake, feeding her small meals throughout the day and providing some space where she can exercise and play. Lulu enjoys play and she would be so very …

Pet of the Week: Jazz

Jazz is available for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. Meet Jazz Jazz is also affectionately known as Spazz by his owner because he was so wild and silly when she adopted him from the Medfield Animal Shelter 7 years ago. He's a Border Collie/Lab mix and all he wanted to do when he was younger was run and play and jump and herd. Now at 9 years young he still does all of this but in a more dignified manner due to all the love he has been showered with by his owner, Pam. Sadly, they must now part ways and it is breaking two hearts. Pam must move to senior housing that does not allow pets and her only wish is that Jazz have a chance at love one more time. In the 7 years they have been together their bond is strong, but Jazz …

Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week: Carly

Carly is available for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. Carly originally came to the Medfield Animal Shelter from a large, very crowded shelter where she spent eight months in a cage, patiently waiting for a family to come along and adopt her. This sweet, gorgeous and friendly cat was overlooked simply because there were so many other cats also available. She was adopted from us two years ago, but was recently returned because she was no longer getting along with the other cat in her home. This tiger and white beauty is looking for a home where she can be the boss. Our 17-pound diva does not lack confidence but does lack willpower when it comes to cat cookies. She has tried the "see food" diet, has flunked out of "Jenny …

Pet of the Week: Tony

Tony is available for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. This handsome tabby boy is named Tony. He was adopted from the shelter 7 years ago, and was recently returned with his friend Susie, because their owner had to go into a nursing home. The cats are sad to find themselves at the shelter and are hoping someone is looking to adopt a pair of quiet, gentle kitties. Tony is friendly and purrs a lot. He is neutered and up to date on his vet care and is doing well in our cage-free room.   We think a quieter home would be best for this nice cat.   To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our Cat and Kitten Adoption Application or call the Shelter at 508-359-8989.

Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week Special Edition: Russett Hill Cat

The Medfield Animal Shelter is looking for the owner of a cat from the Russett Hill Road area of Sherborn.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. This handsome short haired grey cat was brought to the Medfield Animal Shelter on Tuesday, July 17 by someone that thought he was a cat missing from a home in Medfield.   He is not that cat, so we are now looking for his family. He is a very handsome, neutered male and he has a white spot on his neck. He was found on Russett Hill Road in Sherborn and we are sure his family is frantically looking for him, since he doesn't look like he has skipped a meal or been fending for himself.   Please call the Medfield Animal Shelter at 508-359-8989 or send an e-mail to info@medfieldshelter.com if he is your cat.

Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week: PJ Funnybunny

PJ Funnybunny is available for adoption now through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. PJ Funnybunny is an adorable 2-year-old rabbit who is in need of a new home. His fur is light brown and his ears are long and very soft. He was adopted from the shelter a year and a half ago, but was returned because he bit the kids and this caused them to stop playing with him and giving him attention. He has always been an indoor bunny. He enjoys attention and being petted, and is much happier now that he has lots of human attention and a chance to hop around, so he no longer bites.   One of our volunteers brought him home to be a friend to her rabbit, but the two rabbits don't get along, so she feels he would be happier in a home where he is the only rabbit. Like …

Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week: Kimber

Kimber is up for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter. Kimber was left at the door of the shelter in a carrier along with her three kittens. The person left a note saying she had lost her job and was unable to care for the kitties. Kimber is now finished caring for her kittens and is in need of a home of her own (her kittens have all been adopted). Her foster family said she is a wonderful, friendly and affectionate cat. She is very sweet, loving and playful, but she has made it clear she would like to be the only cat in the household, since she doesn't like any of the other cats at the shelter. She is spayed and up-to-date on all her vet care, so she is ready to roll.   To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our …
