Submitted by Judy Ambrose, Neponset Valley Humane Society Penny and Bella are an adorable, friendly, happy, active young pair. Penny is the bobtail tabby. Bella is black. Penny is very sweet, loving and gentle with people but often instigates play with her best pal Bella. She enjoys curling up on the sofa with her foster family and being part of the family. Bella is a happy, energetic little girl. She came into rescue missing most of one ear, as you can see in her photo. We have no idea how that happened; she came to us that way, and it does not slow her down. Bella likes to be picked up, and once she gets to know you, she will follow you around just waiting for you to give her attention. She purrs with contentment anytime she gets pets…

This week's pets looking for a home are two kitties named Jessica and Pandora.
Jessica and Pandora are a bonded pair of purebred Siamese cats that need a new home due to their owner developing a severe allergy to them. The cats are very sweet and have received good care all their lives. They are up-to-date on their vet care and are both spayed. Please call the Medfield Shelter send an e-mail to info@medfieldshelter.com if you can give this pair a good home. This beautiful cat was hanging around Medfield Gardens on Pleasant Street in Medfield for a while and was brought to the shelter by the ACO on May 11th. We were not able to find her owners so she is now available for adoption. She is beautiful, sweet and purrs nonstop. We estimate her to be around 2-years-old. She is a very active and playful kitty who will bring a lot of fun to a lucky family. She will need an owner willing to brush her plush coat to keep it looking its best. Ariel is not very fond of other cats, so we think she would be happiest as the only cat in her new home. Please call the Shelter at 508-359-8989 or send an e-mai to info@medfieldshelter.com if you are interested in meeting Ariel.

This week's pet of the week is a bunny named Joey.
Joey is a handsome Mini Rex rabbit that arrived at the Medfield Animal Shelter this week. Rex rabbits are known for their plush, very soft and velvety fur and their outgoing personalities that make them great pets. Although Rex rabbits typically have easy-to-care-for coats, poor Joey came to us terrible matted and filthy, likely from living in a dirty cage. Rabbits that are neutered are relatively easy to litter box train, and all rabbits placed from the Medfield Shelter are neutered prior to going to their new homes. Rabbits are active, gentle pets that are happiest and healthiest when they have a large clean cage, lots of play time out of their cage, and plenty of fresh hay and veggies daily. All of the Medfield Shelter's bunnies are …

This week's pet of the week is a cat named Snickers.
Snickers was brought to the shelter after being seen out on his own on Philip Street in Medfield for over 2 weeks. We were surprised to discover he is declawed. He is a handsome, playful, spunky cat and is looking for a new home where he will always be kept safely indoors. He is a bit on the feisty side, so he wouldn't be a good fit for a home with young kids. Our vet estimates he is about 7 years old, and he is on thyroid medication, but is doing well on it and is very good about taking his meds. Please call the Shelter at 508.359.8989 or send an e-mail to info@medfieldshelter.com if you are interested in adopting Snickers. You can see more pictures of Snickers on our website, MedfieldShelter.com.

Harley was rescued after he was seen high up in a tree for several days. The local ACO tried to reach him, but he was too high up and refused to come down on his own. Finally the Animal Rescue League came out with a cherry picker and got him out of the tree. No one in the neighborhood recognized him, so he lived with the ACO for a week and was a perfect gentleman. She told us he is very clean and quiet. He is settling in well at the shelter and is cute as a button. He will be neutered at our in-house clinic on May 15th and will be ready to go home after that. To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our Cat and Kitten Adoption Application.

This week's pets are two kitties named Bootsie and Buffy.
Bootsie and Buffy are a beautiful pair of bonded cats that need a home together. Buffy is approximately two, and her baby, Bootsie, is about one-year-old. These girls are sweet, purr a lot and even let you rub their bellies, but they are a bit nervous in new situations. They are typical young cats that love to play, watch the birds from their cat tree and sleep in sunny spots. This pair will make a wonderful addition to any home. They are both spayed and up-to-date on their vet care. Please call the Medfield Animal Shelter if you are interested in providing them with a loving home: 508-359-8989 or info@medfieldshelter.com.

This week's pet of the week is a cat named Blarney.

Blarney came to a spay/neuter clinic for feral cats, but when he woke up from his neuter surgery, he was purring away and made it clear he is a friendly guy and not a feral, so he is now available for adoption. He purrs all the time, supervises the volunteers when they prepare his meals, and rubs against everyone, even a recent visitor who is terrified of cats. He is a young adult at approximately 2 years old. As you can see from his pictures, he was ear tipped before we realized he was friendly. He is a really nice kitty, but would be happiest as the only cat in the house. To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our Cat and Kitten Adoption Application. Today we have two pets of the week, Squirt and Joker.
These brothers are from a local resident who believed in the phrase, "Cats, you can't just have one." and ended up with far too many to care for. They came to us at about 4 weeks of age with litter mates and went directly into foster care for lots of TLC to get them used to eating on their own and getting lots of love. It is not unusual for kittens that were not raised by a mom cat who did not receive vaccines or dewormers to come in underweight and need extra time. These wonderful boys are not our million dollar cats but after $1,500 worth of vet care, you can tell how devoted we are to only send out healthy pets and try our best to save every animal that comes through our door. Joker and Squirt need a home where they will be treasured. …

This week's pet of the week is a pooch named Duke.
Duke is an adorable 14 month old Labradoodle with many, many good qualities. He is sweet, knows some commands (Sit, Paw, Down) and is very quiet and well-behaved in his kennel. He is very eager to please and bonds with his caretakers right away. However, he is a very high energy dog, pulls on the leash, and seems to have never been told that jumping up on people is not acceptable. Duke needs an owner who is active and is interested in investing some time training him. He is smart, eager to learn and food motivated, so he will probably be the star of his obedience class. He did live with another dog and a 4 year old boy, and was very good with both of them. Like most young dogs, he will need a daily walk or run, or an active dog playmate to…
