Readers have been uploading photos for nearly a week. We've crowned our winner.
Since we launched our sibling photo contest last Wednesday, readers have uploaded dozens of awesome pictures of brothers with brothers, sisters with sisters, brothers with sisters. It's never easy to choose the sole winner of our contest each week. This week was particularly difficult. After looking at all the entries, we had to go with Kimberly Healy Murphy's photo of "sister love." It simply melted our hearts! Congratulations, Kimberly, and thank you to all those who entered! Our first photo contest of 2013 focuses on family: siblings, specifically.
The bulk of holiday festivities should be over by now. For many, that probably means that there are tons of family photos on your memory card or computer, just begging to be shared with us. In our first Picture of the Week contest of the year, we want to see photos of siblings together. Whether it's that great picture you have of you and your brother at Christmas, that old gem you've saved from childhood or that adorable shot of your children, let's see them. We’ll take submissions until 6 p.m. Jan. 7. The winner, chosen by Patch editors, will be announced on Jan. 8. The prize? A $25 gift card. In our photo contest this week, readers from all over the region shared with us their favorite photos from 2012. But we could only choose one. All photos uploaded before 6 p.m. yesterday were under consideration to be crowned the winner in Patch's Picture of the Week Contest. We received nearly 90 entries to our photo contest this week, which asked readers to submit photos of their food. It wasn't easy to only choose one as the winner of our contest, which gives readers the chance to win a $25 gift card. We received dozens of great photos that captured youngsters' (and even pets') moments with Santa Claus.
