Sherborn Appoints New Town Administrator

Selectmen choose Framingham Assistant Town Manager David Williams.

  Selectman Paul DeRensis submitted the following: David Williams was appointed Town Administrator of the Town of Sherborn, per unanimous vote of the Board of Selectmen, subject to negotiation of a mutually acceptable contract.   Here is David Williams background:   Occupation: Assistant Town Manager, Human Resources Director and Chief Procurement Officer, Framingham (February 2010-present). Education: Master of Public Administration, James Madison University; BA, Public Management, University of Maine. Career Highlights: Was the first town administrator of West Bath, Maine, “Maine’s Smallest City” (January 2000- June 2003), and served as finance director, treasurer and collector for the same town. Caruso Introduced as Selectmen, Board Aligned

Selectmen Tom Twining was renamed chair of the board during the meeting.

The Sherborn Board of Selectmen met Thursday night to introduce their newest member Peter Caruso and also to vote to realign the board. There was not much realignment, however, as the board voted to keep Tom Twining as chair of the board and also to keep Paul DeRensis as vice-chair. Caruso was named clerk. After being named clerk, Caruso was officially introduced as a member of the board of selectmen. “I’m excited to be here, to work with you two gentlemen," Caruso said of Twining and DeRensis. "I want to thank you for all the service you’ve been doing all along. I think it’s invaluable to the town what you’ve been doing. Q&A with Sherborn's New Selectman Peter Caruso

Caruso said he is hoping to 're-earn the trust and respect in the Board of Selectmen by the residents and other stakeholders.'

Peter Caruso won an uncontested bid for Sherborn's open seat on the Board of Selectmen in the town's election Tuesday. Former Selectmen George Pucci announced in February that he would not be seeking re-election on the board. Caruso won the Town Caucus by a vote of, 94-41, over then-candidate Ed McGuire. McGuire dropped out of the race before the election. Caruso received 494 votes in this year's election.
