During a snow storm in the last days of winter, MetroWest spent Tuesday morning shoveling dense, wet slush as temperatures flirted with climbing above the freezing point. Spring officially begins Wednesday, but Old Man Winter seems to have planned at least one more whack before letting warmer weather in. Forecasters predict as much as 8 inches of snow could fall on Westwood Dover and Sherborn, starting tonight into Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Storm Warning beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and lasting through 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Look out for heavy snow and ice, and between 4 and 8 inches of snow, according the NWS warning. Snow will likely make Tuesday morning's commute a difficult one, the NWS warns. National Weather Service: Six to 10 inches are expected.
Winter isn't over yet, despite spring officially starting in roughly two weeks. Six to 10 inches of snow—the heavy, wet stuff that can cause power outages—are coming, the National Weather Service in Taunton says. Late this afternoon, the agency issued a winter storm watch for much of Southern New England, including Worcester, from late Wednesday night into Friday morning. Patch is monitoring the storm and will have updates as news becomes available.

The little snow that's fallen this weekend could cause some big traffic headaches today. The National Weather Service in Taunton expects slick roads and reduced visibility, possibly into tonight. A ham radio operator reported Shrewsbury had received 2.5 inches of snow as of 8:33 a.m., the weather service says. Light snow was falling locally at 10:30 a.m. Daytime temperatures in the lower 40s are expected Monday through Thursday, the weather service says. Rain and snow showers are possible Wednesday through Friday.

National Weather Service now says 2 to 4 inches this weekend, with 3 to 6 in the hills.
Less snow than expected is headed this way. The National Weather Service in Taunton has reduced its forecast to two to four inches, with three to six inches in the hills. Friday's forecast had snowfall totals as high as 10 inches in some areas. The weather service has issued a winter weather advistory for this area from 3 this afternoon to midnight Sunday.

Weather forecasters are predicting heavier snow toward Central Massachusetts.
Will Dover and Sherborn get pummeled this weekend with more than a foot of snow or will it be less than a half-foot with rain mixed in? The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather watch from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. The NWS said a couple of inches is possible but warned that a mixture with main could create hazardous conditions. Therefore, it looks like Dover and Sherborn will largely be spared from the storm that will hit closer to the Worcester area. The National Weather Service and many of the local weather forecasters are calling for snow again this weekend - the third weekend in a row. Depending on which forecast you trust, the Dover and Sherborn area could get anywhere between 4 inches to a foot of snow. The blizzard dropped about two feet of snow on Dover and Sherborn earlier this month. The National Weather Service reported there is a "high probability for a strong coastal storm to impact Southern New England late Saturday night into Sunday. Jim Arnold, weather specialist with Shrewsbury Emergency Management, doesn't think he's used the words "fasten your seatbelts" in a weather update more than four times in the past 25 years. On Wednesday, he did. "I think we will see blizzard conditions developing by late Friday afternoon," said Arnold. "Snow will begin around or just before dawn and should be fairly light until mid morning when it will become heavier and the wind will begin to increase.
