As the country observes Veterans Day today, let's share stories and thoughts about the veterans in our lives.
Veterans Day, which marks the anniversary of the end of World War I, honors all veterans, alive and dead. Maybe you have today off from work. Maybe you don't. Either way, we encourage you to take a few moments to help us honor local veterans. The Sherborn Board of Selectmen hosted a ceremony for Veterans Day today.
Dozens of people filled the meeting room at the Sherborn Town Hall Friday to commemorate and honor veterans on Veterans Day. Several veterans addressed the crowd and told them stories about their service. After the ceremony everyone gathered to chat and enjoy a lunch.

The service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The Sherborn Board of Selectmen will be hosting a Veterans Day ceremony on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sherborn Town Hall. The event will begin with a presentation of colors followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem by the Dover-Sherborn High School Chorus. Guest speakers will include local veterans and Rep. David Linsky. The winner of the high school essay contest "What Veterans Day Means to Me" Greg Michalowski will read his essay aloud. Afterwards taps will be played and there will be a lunch served following the ceremony. For more information contact the Sherborn Selectmen's Office 508-651-7850.

I would like to salute Bill Ruane. Bill served in Viet Nam with 2/22nd Mech, 25th Infantry Division. If you saw the movie "Platoon" you saw the battle Billy and Oliver Stone survived in 1967. Please thank Billy when you see him at the Sherborn Transfer Station.   more ›
