Sherborn Police Log: Is Property Public or Private?

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. When arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Wednesday, November 28 Sign Complaint (2:44 p.m.) - A caller reported that there were signs posted on town property near the intersection of Great Rock Rd. and Farm Rd. The caller stated that they also contacted the Board of Selectmen as well. An officer checked, and the signs are on private property. Wild Dog (3:30 p.m.) - A Peckham Hill Rd. resident reported that there is a German Shepherd in her backyard. The animal control officer was notified, but the dog was gone when the ACO arrived. Thursday, November 29 Suspicious Activity (5:25 p.m.) - A caller from Nason Hill Rd. and Hollis St. reported that there is a UPS delivery man in the area without a UPS marked truck. The caller stated they they saw this same person in the area yesterday.

Thursday, November 22 Shots Fired (10:12 p.m.) - A Goulding St. West caller reported hearing five gunshots. Officers didn't hear any when they arrived at the scene. Friday, November 23 Fire (8:39 a.m.) - A Coolidge St. resident reported a small chimney fire.

  Monday, November 19 Tailgated (10:47 a.m.) - A Maple St. caller reported that the same party has tailgated him multiple times while honking as he pulls into his driveway. The most recent incident had taken place much earlier, so the caller was advised that he should call closer to the incident. Fire in a Barrel (4:03 p.m.) - A caller reported that someone was burning something in a barrel. An officer was dispatched and advised a male about the open burning laws. The male put out the fire. Sherborn Police Log: Cruiser without Lights

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, November 15 Car Parked without Lights (12:51 a.m.) - A Washington St. caller reported a car parked in a driveway with no lights on. The car was an officer running traffic enforcement. Friday, November 16 Bang! (3:15 a.m.) - A Russett Hill Rd. resident called to report hearing a loud bang outside. She requested a check of the exterior of her home. Police advised her that they didn't find anything. Shots Fired (8:10 a.m.) - A Russett Hill Rd. resident reports that she thinks someone is hunting behind her house as she has heard gunshots. Saturday, November 17 Noise Complaint (7:51 p.m.) - Police received a report of fireworks going off in the area of Farm Rd. and South St. Police were unable to locate the people responsible.

Sherborn Police Log: Speeding Ferraris

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, November 12 Ferrari Racing (4:21 p.m.) - A caller reported a black and a yellow Ferrari speeding. This was the second straight day that a complaint had been made about cars matching this description. Tuesday, November 13 Erratic Driving (7:28 a.m.) - A caller reported a vehicle driving without brakelights on Washington St. Officers checked, but couldn't find the car. Suspicious Vehicle (10:14 a.m.) - A caller reported that yesterday around 7 p.m. a suspicious vehicle was driving around the neighborhood and pulled into a driveway. Once the car was in the driveway, the people inside the car exited the vehicle and were walking around the house and into the field that is behind the house.

Sherborn Police Log: Coaches on the Brink of Getting Physical

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. Any arrests mentioned do not indicate convictions.

Saturday, November 10 Disturbance (3:05 p.m.) - A caller reported that two coaches at Fessenden Field are in an argument that looks like it may turn physical. The caller requested police presence, and there was no problem once the police arrived. Erratic Driver (5:49 p.m.) - A caller reported a vehicle speeding up and slowing down excessively on Main St. Sunday, November 11 Arrest (4:18 a.m.) - Officers arrived to a single car crash on Washington St. and Old Orchard Rd. Blair Hogan, 22, of Holliston was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Marked Lane Violation, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Speed Greater than Reasonable.

Sherborn Police Log: Suspicious Former Contractor

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, November 6 Hazard (9:58) - A caller in the area of Washington St. and Greenwood St. reported that a large truck has an uncovered load on its trailer. The reporting party stated that plastic was flying off the trailer. Wednesday, November 7 Suspicious Behavior (10:21 a.m.) - A caller from Peckham Hill Rd. reported that a former contractor has been driving by the property a lot lately. The new contractors at the site say that he has driven by four times in one day. The caller was advised to report to the police if these actions continued.

Sherborn Police Log: Walking Home in the Dark

The following information was provided by the Sherborn Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate an arrest.

Sunday, November 4 Suspicious Person (5:10 p.m.) - A Farm Rd. resident called to report that she saw a male between 5-8 and 5-10 wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up walking down the driveway to a house with the lights out. The lights were later put on. It wound up being the resident coming home from a walk. Monday, November 5 Car Crash/Arrest (12:03 a.m.) - Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Kendall Ave. Benjamin Ruggaber of Sherborn was arrested and charged with OUI-Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation of a Motor Vehicle in Violation of a License Restriction and Marked Lanes Violation. Saturday, November 3 Vandals (12:13 a.m.) - A caller reported a group of people throwing eggs at cars on Kendall Ave. Vandalism (12:30 p.m.) - A Snow St. resident called to report a damaged window on her car. Complaint (4:59 p.m.) - A caller from Washington St. reported that two men were cutting wood and stacking it in a trailer towed by an SUV. The parties involved stated that the previous owner owed them wood. They were advised not to return. Suspicious Vehicle (6:25 p.m.) - A Stoney Brook Rd. resident reported that a dark colored vehicle, possibly a Volvo, was parked in the cul-de-sac and took off quickly when approached. The reporting party stated that she thought she got the license plate number, but it appeared to be incorrect.

Thursday, November 1 Burglary (11:20 a.m.) - An Eliot St. resident called to report a housebreak. The resident reports a broke window. Dover Police, Natick Police and a State Police K9 Unit are called in to help search the area. Sign Stolen (9:14 p.m.) - A Prospect St. resident reports that his political sign was stolen. Friday, November 2 Suspicious Activity (7:04 p.m.) - A caller reported that that lights were on at an abandoned property on Washington St. as she drove by. A officer checked and found an unsecured door. After checking the building, officers believed that someone had been sleeping in the building. They re-secured the door.
